Tropical Landscape, Palette Knife 8x10 Painting, SOLD

Recently, several of my paintings were reproduced on solid wood plank hand distressed panels by Artehouse LLC.  Imagine my surprise when I discovered that I have never posted this original artwork which is among those being marketed.

These palms, next to the intercoastal waterway on the east coast of Florida, are shown during the "golden hour".  Golden hour refers to that brief time when the setting sun bathes the landscape is a golden glow.

I tried to capture that glow in my painting, but it is a poor version of the glorious view I had that November afternoon.  Even photographs pale next to the real thing.

Tropical Landscape Painting | Daily Painting | Small Oil Painting | Palette Knife Art | Tropical Glow by Carol Schiff | 6x12" Oil

I was down at the inter-coastal one evening in late November, just as the sun started it's journey below the horizon.

When the sunlight hit the trunks of  palms, they seemed to glow, almost like they were on fire.

Some times, I like to display my paintings on a shelf instead of framing and hanging on the wall.

This painting has been licensed and reproduced as a hand-distressed solid wood plank wall decor.  You may have seen it on OneKingsLane.com, JoshandMain.com or Wayfare.com.

Thanks for viewing my daily paintings.  Have a great weekend everybody!

Small Seascape, "Stormy Beach Day" by Carol Schiff, 6x8 Oil, Palette Knife Seascape

Living in Florida, we get lots of sunny days.  This time of the year, it is normal for what starts out as a sunny day to suddenly change to black, threatening clouds, as the cool sea breezes collide over land

with hot air from the west.  When that happens, it's time to run for cover as the effects can be fast and violent.  The last place you want to find yourself is on the beach as we live in an area fondly known as "Lightening Capitol of the World".  Every year we read of people who are struck with lightening and often do not survive.  On this day, we quickly ran for our car as the clouds rolled in.  I was happy to get a few shots of the storm.

I tried to capture that moment when the clouds roll in with the azure water quickly turning dark.

Thanks for reading my blog today....hope you have a great week.  Oh, by the way....please pin it!
